To commemorate this historic TV moment on behalf of CBS, we organised a press tour for the iconic actress Nichelle Nichols aka Lieutenant Uhura. As part of the tour, we partnered with the BFI to curate a sci-fi screening showing the episode that featured the first interracial kiss on US television. In a Q&A after the screening, Nichols was joined by filmmaker and broadcaster Thomasina Gibson, scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Dr Kevin Fong to discuss the shows impact on their own lives, and its impact on multi-culturalism.
